Description
This high definition Alginate mixes easily to a very creamy consistency by hand, similar to that of yoghurt.
Designed for head casts and body casting.
Slow sets in 7-8 minutes.
Thick Mix: Mix approximately 1 part water to 1 part powder ratio by weight (100 grams of powder to 100ml of water).
Thin Mix: Mix approximately 2 part water to 1 part powder ratio by weight (100 grams of powder to 200ml of water).
For best strength, it is specifically warm water set, ideal water temperature is around 26-32*C.
Mix together rapidly, being careful to avoid introducing air bubbles.
Apply to surface with a flowing motion pushing out air ahead of material.
Requires a shell jacket of plaster bandages.
It has a high initial tear strength, however demoulding must be done carefully to avoid tearing.
This is an organic based product and is to be used as only a temporary mould material.
To avoid shrinkage and distortion in castings, it is best to make a positive cast immediately.
The mould may be kept usable in water, plastic bags or an airtight container for a few days.
